Expression of interest

An expression of interest is an invitation for you to express if you’re interested in a role. It is not a job offer, and it does not include full details such as job title, location, or contract type and length.

We can issue an expression of interest invitation to more than 1 candidate on a panel. The invitation will include a deadline by which you need to reply. We will not accept expressions of interest after the deadline.

We may contact you about opportunities available in HSE funded organisations and services, particularly in disability services.

When you respond, you must follow the format set out in the invitation email.

How it works

Candidates who express an interest will be added to an expressed interest list.

They will be ordered by merit in the list. The candidate with the highest position will receive a "recommendation to proceed" invitation. This will allow them to progress to the next stage on the recruitment process. That is called "pre-employment clearances stage".

Your position on the recruitment panel does not change if you:

  • are not the highest in order of merit on the list
  • respond to the invitation with "Not interested"
  • do not respond to the Expression of interest invitation

If you withdraw during the pre-employment clearances stage, we may revert to the next person on the expressed interest list. We may issue a new Expression of interest invitation, depending on the amount of time that has passed.
