Quality and patient safety - Clinical governance development, an assurance check for health service providers

The document is intended as a guide for clinical governance development across the continuum of care. This includes statutory or voluntary hospital/network, mental health service, primary care services, area management etc. It is based on the relevant national standards and legislation (Health Information and Quality Authority, Mental Health Commission, Health and Safety Authority, etc).

The Office of the Chief Clinical Officer is currently reviewing the HSE’s 2012 Clinical Governance Framework.
