Summary
The Opportunistic Case Finding Programme began in early 2022.
It identifies patients at high risk for:
- cardiovascular disease
- diabetes
- chronic kidney disease
By May 2024, GPs had assessed nearly 200,000 people, enrolling many in HSE chronic disease management prevention and treatment programmes.
The report highlights a significant number of undiagnosed chronic kidney disease cases, highlighting the need to expand intervention programmes to address this gap.
