HSE’s Parliamentary Affairs Office

The HSE Parliamentary Affairs office manages Parliamentary Questions (PQ) assigned to the HSE. The office works with HSE teams across the country to make sure questions and all parliamentary business is effectively managed.

A PQ is a question asked by a TD in the Oireachtas. It can be answered orally or in writing. The question is usually answered by the Taoiseach, the Tánaiste, or a minister. A PQ can relate to any policy issue. Health related questions are usually about the health services, things that impact an individual, or topics that interest the public.

Publication of responses

Answers to parliamentary questions are put on the HSE website. This happens after they have been shared with members of the Oireachtas.
