Visitor guidelines updated as Wexford General Hospital manages flu outbreak

Wexford General Hospital is currently managing an outbreak of flu, which is impacting some wards.

Services at the hospital are not affected and visiting is being permitted. However, the Hospital Management is asking those visiting patients in the hospital to limit it to two people per patient at any one time.

Wards with flu outbreaks are advising that visiting is on compassionate grounds only and people are asked to contact these wards before visiting a patient in these wards. The situation will remain under review.

Wexford General Hospital asks the public NOT to visit the hospital, if they are experiencing respiratory and/or flu symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with respiratory and/or flu symptoms.

The wearing of masks may be required in areas of the hospital. Wexford General Hospital thanks the public for their co-operation at this time.
