Visiting arrangements at Tipperary University Hospital updated from Thursday, 29 January 2026
Published: 28 January 2026
Tipperary University Hospital management is advising of changes to recent visiting restrictions at the hospital from tomorrow (Thursday, 29 January).
Having been temporarily closed to visitors due to recent flu and virus outbreaks since January 9, visiting of patients is now permitted daily from 6.30pm - 8.30pm at the hospital. Each patient is only permitted two visitors during this time. We continue to monitor and review the situation on a regular basis.
Hospital management and staff would like to thank the public for their cooperation and understanding as part of efforts to protect our most vulnerable patients. Visitors and staff are asked to wear surgical masks and ensure adherence to hand hygiene guidelines. Visitors are requested not to visit if they are feeling unwell as this poses a risk to loved ones and other patients. Children are not permitted to visit.
Please do not visit the hospital if you have any respiratory symptoms, such as:
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or blocked nose
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Aches and pains
- Or gastrointestinal symptoms
People should check the HSE website for useful advice on common illnesses such as colds, coughs, flu, earache and sore throats and keeping well. Further information can be found at www.hse.ie/flu.
