Updated visitor arrangements at Tipperary University Hospital

Tipperary University Hospital management is advising that the hospital is closed to visitors on infection and control advice with effect from tomorrow (Tuesday, 9 December 2025). These updated visitor arrangements will remain in place until further notice.

The number of patients presenting with flu and respiratory symptoms have increased while the hospital also has patients with Norovirus (Winter Vomiting).

Visiting is only permitted in exceptional circumstances by arrangement with the Clinical Nurse Manager / Nurse in Charge. Visiting on compassionate grounds will be facilitated by the Clinical Nurse Manager on the ward, for the following patients.

• End Of Life Patients
• Critically ill Patients

Hospital management and staff apologise for any inconvenience caused to patients and visitors and we thank people for their understanding and cooperation during this time.

We wish to assure people these actions are being undertaken to protect vulnerable patients and limit the spread of infection.
