Together Again project at the HSE’s Enniscorthy Creative Activity Garden

A season of outdoor events continues at the Creative Activity Garden, located on the grounds of St. John’s Community Hospital in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.

Most recently, the venue featured hosted its fifth Creative Activity Garden event, welcoming Voices in Harmony, Enniscorthy Men's Choir, to perform as part of the Together Again Project.

Centred on an amphitheatre styled area, the Creative Activity Garden is a multi-functional space for gatherings and health and wellbeing activities in the heart of the HSE healthcare campus.

The attendance at the multi-cultural performance included residents and service users of the campus, staff, visitors and neighbours of the campus in Enniscorthy. Refreshments were provided by the catering team from St. John’s Community Hospital.

Speaking at the event, Chair of the St. John’s Healthy Campus group Mick Mahon said:

“This was our fifth Creative Activity Garden event was another wonderful afternoon that brought people together through music, friendship and community. It was fantastic to welcome Voices in Harmony, Enniscorthy Men's Choir, whose performance created such an uplifting atmosphere and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance."

“The Creative Activity Garden continues to provide an inclusive space where patients, residents, staff, families and the wider community can come together to connect, support one another and enjoy shared creative experiences. We are extremely grateful to everyone who helped organise and support the event, particularly the choir, our staff, volunteers and community partners whose commitment makes these afternoons possible."

“These events continue to demonstrate the value of therapeutic community engagement, promoting wellbeing, physical activity and meaningful connections across our campus and the wider community. The Activity Garden project was supported as a placement incentive by Wexford County Council’s Culture and Creativity team and Age Friendly programme, in partnership with the HSE, Creative Ireland, the Irish Architectural Foundation and the Enniscorthy Men’s Shed. Opened in September of last year, the development was also made possible thanks to funding from the government’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
