Suicide Bereavement Support Evening in Carlow

People in Carlow, bereaved by suicide or supporting someone bereaved by suicide are invited to attend a free suicide bereavement support event in Carlow on Thursday, 11 June between 7pm and 8.30pm.

The information evening will take place in the Talbot Hotel, Carlow and people can avail of the opportunity to hear advice, a lived experience of suicide loss and learn about individual and group supports.

Sarah Hearne, Acting HSE Service Manager/Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office, explained: “The event will provide awareness and advice for those who have devastatingly lost a family member, friend, colleague or a teammate to suicide. It will also be helpful to anyone providing support to people who have been bereaved by suicide. Information on supports and services that are available to help people to navigate life after their loss will be provided.

“All are welcome along to meet with the services and learn how individual and group supports may help, to hear a powerful sharing from someone who has found themselves living with the profound loss and grief that accompanies a death by suicide, and to receive relevant information."

The information evening is being organised in conjunction with Pieta and HUGG (Healing Untold Grief Groups), who will also be there on the night to advise on the services they provide.
