St John’s Community Hospital, Enniscorthy marks International Friendship Day 2026

Patients and staff of St John’s Community Hospital, Enniscorthy welcomed volunteers and supporters for a ‘thank you’ tea and coffee morning to mark International Friendship Day last week.

The lovely occasion also honoured the many volunteers that support events and activities in the hospital throughout the year.

International Day of Friendship is celebrated on July 30 each year. Established in 2011 by the United Nations General Assembly, it aims to promote peace, bridge cultures, and build trust through human solidarity.

Mary Fox, Activity Nurse Coordinator, St John’s Community Hospital, Enniscorthy, enthused: “We were delighted to welcome so many of our volunteers and supporters to St John’s Community Hospital last week to mark this lovely occasion with a cup of tea and a thank you.

“We are grateful for the support of all of our volunteers, not only at last week’s event, but also throughout the year and look forward to continuing to welcome them to St John’s Community Hospital.”

The event was attended by patient advocates, members of the Enniscorthy Men’s Shed, and the St John’s Community Hospital Volunteer team.
