Spring is welcomed at Sacred Heart Hospital

The coming of Spring is being marked with its residents by the Activities Team at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Carlow

As much a staple as other occasions during the year like St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, residents and their families look forward to the Afternoon Tea which heralds the first turn of seasons in the year.

The Afternoon Tea takes place as part of an event that also sees the Sacred Heart staff working with the residents to prepare and plant bulbs and seeds of various flowers in the hospital garden. The putting together of candle bouquets and other garlands also feature as part of the flower arranging central to the occasion.

Speaking at the Spring Afternoon Tea, Asst. Director of Nursing at the Sacred Heart, Elaine Flanagan said:

“Spring, being a beautiful, bright and colourful time of year, is something that we at the Sacred Heart like to capture the essence of at the earliest opportunity upon its arrival.”

“Between our residents, staff and visitors calling in on the day, the flower arranging and the Afternoon Tea had a great buzz to it!”

“The Sacred Heart Hospital has an excellent reputation as a care facility and the team here are deeply appreciative of the support we get from families of our residents and the wider community around us and we look forward to more special occasions at the Sacred Heart during 2026.”
