New Integrated Care Programme for Chronic Disease Team are hosting a Free Heart Health Event in Bantry

The Integrated Care Programme for Chronic Disease (ICPCD) Service, specialising in Cardiology, is inviting the public to a free Cardiovascular Awareness Day in Bantry on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, from 10am to 12pm at the Integrated Care Centre, Dromleigh. The event will offer free health checks, expert advice and information to support heart health and help prevent cardiovascular disease.

Visitors can avail of blood pressure and glucose checks, pulse and heart rhythm checks, BMI assessments, CPR demonstrations, and advice on exercise, diet and healthy living. Expert talks from members of the Integrated Care Cardiology Team will begin at 11am.

Dr Risteard O'Lionaird, Consultant Cardiologist, said: "This community-focused event is an important step in bringing specialist cardiovascular expertise closer to the people we serve. Through events like this, we want to empower people with the knowledge and support they need to prevent heart disease, identify potential issues early and live healthier lives."

The new Integrated Care Cardiology Service is designed to help people manage their health proactively, reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and access specialist expertise closer to home."
