Patricia McQuillan, Director of Nursing Regional Vaccination Programme, IHA Carlow/Kilkenny/Tipperary South and IHA Waterford/Wexford said: “We are seeing a significant rise in flu cases across the South East and we are seeing more people including children being admitted to hospital with flu. Children can also spread flu easily.

“We are encouraging as many parents as possible to bring their children to these free walk-in clinics. Vaccinating your child will protect them against what can be a nasty illness in children. It will also help protect more vulnerable family members such as grandparents and small babies,” she added.

Your child can also get their free flu vaccine at participating pharmacies and GP surgeries. For more detail on Children’s flu vaccine, visit https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/flu/childrens-flu-vaccine/
