Published: 24 February 2026
The Capital Plan 2026 (Building and Infrastructure) has been published. Funded from the National Development Plan, it provides significant public investment in health infrastructure to meet current needs, to cater for anticipated population growth and to respond to the changing demographic profile in Ireland.
In 2026 the HSE will see circa €1.3bn being invested into health infrastructure in Ireland, this includes record levels of investment in Disability projects of up to €43m.
The Capital Plan continues to support the vision of high quality, safe, accessible and sustainable healthcare, enabled by capital funding. It aligns with the strategic priorities of the Government and the Minister for Health, the Department of Health, the Department of Children, Disability and Equality and the HSE.
