Christmas marked at Sacred Heart Hospital

Residents and staff at the HSE Dublin and South East’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Carlow enjoyed some activities over the Christmas period.

The Christmas Party and the annual Christmas Crafts Fair are seasonal staples at the Sacred Heart and were very much enjoyed again during December 2025. Dinner on Christmas Day is also a highlight.

Three days before the big day this year, however, a further treat for Sacred Heart residents was in store by way of an organised visit down the road to the Visual Arts Centre in Carlow to see a special screening of the Christmas movie “Elf”.

Speaking as 2026 takes shape at the Sacred Heart, Jenny Dowling (Director of Nursing, Sacred Heart Hospital) said:

“The Sacred Heart Hospital has an excellent reputation as a care facility and the team here are deeply appreciative of the support we get from families of our residents and the wider community around us. Christmas and the coming in of the New Year were marked as the special times of year they are and between our residents, staff and visitors, there was a great buzz here on Christmas Day itself.”

“We look forward to more special occasions at the Sacred Heart in 2026.”
