"We are seeking applications for the role of Team Leader (Specified Purpose Contract) to join the Day Opportunities team.

The Team Leader will play a leading role in the on-going development of person-centred practice and thinking within WALK and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of some key deliverables. A detailed job description is attached. Team Leaders are key drivers and champions in the organization's efforts to ensure people supported have the best possible life.

General Role Outline:

WALK Day opportunities programmes & support are delivered across several geographical locations in Dublin. The Team Leader is responsible for the leadership and co-ordination of a community base. It is a key role within the leadership structure of the organisation and in ensuring person centred approaches are inherent in the thinking and practice of staff and in the provision of our models of support. The person will work collaboratively with the Programme Coordinator Operations Lead and Leader of Day supports & Practice Developers in the evolution of day support services.

Eligibility criteria

  • Third level qualification in a relevant professional discipline
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience, a period of which should be in a Leadership role
  • Experience working with teams to support adults with intellectual disabilities or Autism
  • An understanding of the WALK’s Vision, Values, Ethos and Mission and a positive vision for the future
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have experience of managing stakeholder relationships, to maximize meaningful opportunities available to the people we support
  • Have a commitment to ongoing career development and a willingness to undertake leadership training and mentoring
  • Be flexible to work across Service locations
