To support and work collaboratively with the Clinical Specialists in ED and VFAC, and other team members in co-ordinating and developing the MSK and ED Physiotherapy service, to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation
Play a key role in the MSK OPD / ED Physiotherapy Service provision in OLOL Hospital
Develop the MSK OPD / ED Physiotherapy service in line with National Clinical Care Programmes
To be responsible for the provision of evidence based high quality Physiotherapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice
To carry out clinical and educational duties as required
To work with Physiotherapy Management in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service
The Senior MSK Physiotherapist will work in the Outpatient Department and / or the Emergency Department. The post holder may be required to provide cover for fracture clinics and virtual fracture clinics. The post may also extend to the Physiotherapy MSK services in the Injury Unit at Louth County Hospital.
The senior post holder may work across inpatient and outpatients pending service needs.
The Louth Hospitals Group Physiotherapy Service, is an integrated service incorporating Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda (OLOLH), Louth County Hospital (LCH), and the Cottage Community Hub, with close links to Louth Primary Care Services. The Louth Hospitals Group is part of the Dublin and North East health region, providing care to the people of Louth, Meath, North Dublin, South Monaghan and surrounding area. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, is a Model 3 teaching hospital, The Physiotherapy Department provides a comprehensive in-patient & out-patient service. Specialties include Stroke, Neurology, Care of the Older Person, Respiratory, Surgery, Trauma Orthopaedics, Critical Care, Acute Medical rehabilitation, Paediatrics, Pelvic Health, ED, OPAL, Haematology and Oncology, MSK, VFAC, Vestibular COPD Outreach, and Stroke ESD.
An out of hour’s emergency on-call service, and week-end service is provided
