Location

The location will be agreed prior to commencement of the post. The post holder will be required to lead/attend meetings in Dublin and nationally but there will be flexibility about the base.

Candidates should be available to commence work as soon as possible.

In conjunction with the National Women and Infants Health Programme, the Clinical Lead role will be responsible for:
• Be a member of the Obstetric Emergency Support Team
• To engage with sites with respect to continue learning events e.g. HIE/Neonatal event.
• Lead NWIHP OEST & subsequent Quality & Safety Improvement Initiatives.
• To engage with labour ward managers and leads nationally re neonatal activity
• To Support the 19 maternity Units in producing data for IMIS.
• To represent NWHIP where to develop on national working groups.
• To visit the Maternity units to help with standardisation of protocols and sharing best practice nationally.
• To report to Clinical Director and Director of NWHIP.
• Review neo-natal data and focus on improving system learning

Risk Management, Quality, Health & Safety
• Adequately identifies, assesses, manages and monitors risk within their area of responsibility.
• Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc. and comply with associated HSE protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role.

Education & Training
Engages with CPD with relevant professional body.
Shares knowledge and experience in providing MDT education as required.

Management
• Demonstrate pro-active commitment to all communications with internal and external stakeholders
