"The purpose of the post is to provide a high-quality, safe and patient-centred Cardiac Physiology service across the full range of investigations undertaken within the Cardiac Diagnostics Department.
The Senior Cardiac Physiologist will independently perform, analyse and report cardiac diagnostic investigations within their scope of practice and level of competence. The postholder will recognise and promptly escalate clinically significant findings in accordance with departmental policies and agreed clinical pathways.
The postholder will contribute to the supervision and development of junior staff and students and will participate in quality assurance, clinical audit, service improvement, research, education and continuing professional development.
The Senior Cardiac Physiologist will also support the ongoing development of advanced echocardiography, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, implanted cardiac-device follow-up, remote monitoring and digital diagnostic systems, helping the department respond safely and effectively to increasing service demand."
